It's already established that making him an Admiral made him less inclined to die so easily. The problem is that the soul-link consumed the last of his Admiral power to give Fubuki her second-remodel powerup in the field.

I rather like the speculation I'm seeing that there's a matching band for him that will give him a fresh Admiral-power boost. (And if that's the case, it would be hilarious to have a quick sketch of Admibro wearing all his groom's-rings at once, blingin' like the pimp he is.)
