I think it's the bangs that she's having issues with, rather than the ahoge. She wants a change over from the blunt bangs she has now to the more tapered ones in the new art.

Rather than her bangs
I think its more that her hair flaps ( the ones that are triangular just like thoses on Tama kai-ni) has changed since her base art way back when
