the EO isn't out for a day, and E7 is the last map. Give them some time. Anyway noone will blame you if you drop to Medium, Easy or casual to fisnish the event because it's too hard or ressources too low.

"Sunday Punch" is all you need. You won't get better than that with any carrier built during the war. Unless luck bring a superior effort, Any Essex-class will outdo Enterprise, and Shinano didn't carry many airplanes due to her armored support carrier status and the fact she was a converted battleship.
USS Midway is the only carrier that holds more in this era., and she is "just" post-war. The only other the might carry as much as the Essex is the cancelled British Malta-class carrier.
Shibafu's art is fine. I don't mind it, and I don't see people complaining about Ooi or Super Kitakamai-sama.

But right now it seems the hate flow because many thing : US(?) player get pissed because Gambier bay wasn't well-knowed and have weak stat, then we've got 12h-maintenance, while people where expecting something better than Saratoga (who is the best foreign, all the british comming in second). Bust since Intrepid is quite plain (wich is a good thing) -> shitstorm. Maybe hidden nationalist is the cause too. Same as the Olympic game, you want what represent your country to be the best, and you will have to find a culprit if it's bad.

shibafu did his best in this one... look at interpid rigging you rarely see that high amount of detail in his other pictures... you may compare it

I fail to see how expressing a pretty universal opinion that the art for Intrepid is sub-par is 'not acting like an adult'. Expressing a negative opinion of something isn't 'childish' or being a 'hater' b default.

Beyond that the entire nationalist nonsense doesn't work because there are plenty of JAPANESE players shitting on it all over social media as well. Sure if you go and look in the worst pits you can find people taking it too far, but trying to use that to say that ALL the criticism is somehow invalid is nonsense of the type I described. Oh no, You misunderstand me. I have no problem if you don't or do like a piece of art. But launching a false DMCA against the official twitter over art you don't like is kinda stupid. (though reports state that the DMCA was over zuihou's picture but I doubt that honestly) If you tweeted "hey intrepid's art is shit" at shibafu or the official twitter, that is ok too, just as long as it didnt devolve into death threats or other such garbage. Thats what I was being mad about personally as I heard that also death threats where issued.
Personally I don't mind it, I think her head is a tad too small and thats what needs to be fixed in my not so humble opinion.

Ayanami for the DDs, Kitakami/Ooi, Kaga back then, all were "above-average" ships with below-average art.
Probably the main issue is that, while other artist have improved a lot on their character designs and we have gotten quite a few gems (Tashkent being the most recent), Shibafu remains constant-ish. Intrepid is by no means "summer mikuma" level of bad, just not what most people was expecting.

You're retarded, those DMCA reports were definitely for both ZuiZui and Zuihou's twitter pictures. There were users that reported the devs' twitter icon having problems showing up (this was caused by these reports) days before it was even time for maintenance.

I honestly prefer Shibafu's design senses to the nuttiness of Yoshinori's designs until they finally strapped him down and forced him to take his meds in the past year or so, and finally got around to making Musashi wear a coat and comb her hair so that her character design is ALMOST coherent.
Shibafu's designs have always had some of the most design coherence in the game, and set the standard for the game as a whole. Carrier = archer, battleship = judo, cruiser = highschooler, destroyer = middleschooler has been the standard because of Shibafu, and even if you like some of the other artists, you can't ignore that they make a whole lot more sense than floating mecha rabbit ears on Murakumo or... EVERYTHING Yoshinori drew. (And even for as much as I've never liked Yoshinori, even he at least has an art style that doesn't overtly clash with the rest of the art the way that Arthur or Arden does, so KC's at least more consistent as a whole than many games.)
Intrepid looks perfectly fine. Yeah, the face is a Shibafu face, but everything else is actually a real improvement on Shibafu's standard of artwork, and it's a perfectly fine, sensible piece of art that doesn't have glaring problems with it the way that some artwork really stands out.
I'm fine with Shibafu doing Intrepid. That's his 7th potato carrier, and the first 6 were fine and actually beloved and popular. If I have a problem with Intrepid, it's that he made her way too busy -- compare her to the simplicity of CarDiv1, CarDiv2, and Houshou. The neck pillow and the director behind it really hurts the composition and makes her head look tiny. The radar antennas and the DP guns on her rifle detract more than they add.
He should have kept it simple, but i think it was somewhat hinted with Taiyou the trajectory was gonna lead to this. Kasuga Maru was as simple as her potato carrier forebearers, but Taiyou Kai Ni is edges to level 2 in complexity (though Intrepid skips straight to level 6 on that scale)

I always doubt the official story, and calling me retarded was a wee bit uncalled for. but if that is the truth then its the truth. It just the timing of the DMCA actually taking effect was a bit questionable as it was enacted just when the firestorm over Intrepid's art was starting up.
But the question is... will Tanaka take action over this issue or will they leave it as is? because I think shibafu needs to redo the art, like he has done better art before, his Intrepid art leaves alot be desired. so I say give him the chance to fix it.

Can't we all agree that people have different opinions on what is good and what isn't? Personally, I don't find Intrepid's CG having glaring flaws. Proportions slightly off, sure, but nothing so severe that I'll actually have a adverse biological reaction from looking at it. Shibafu's a consistent artist.

Communities fail to realize for every negative criticism about anything there are hundreds of silent users who actually do like them or do not care at all. that doesn't always mean a good thing as far i has tell Shibafu's attempt at faces still looks pretty much the same it did since the early days of kantai.
now his non facial art has indeed gotten much better I'll give Shibafu that.

To me, Intrepid isn't immediately popular because she fits the definition of a 'shipgirl' too perfectly which ironically makes her somewhat boring when compared to wackier designs we're already accustomed with. People expect crazier things with more fetishes nowadays, not some practical-looking shits. Big knockers with no cleavage window?
