Usual takoyakis only has scrapes of meat in them. If the takoyakis are just puff balls, then there will be torches and pitchforks.

The takoyaki sold around my place usually just has veggies. Couple really small slices of cabbage n' such. Maybe they'll be all quirky and fill it with chocolate. Sometimes they'll have a small amount of squid too, but never any octopus.

It tastes good n' all but it really gets me missing the real deal.

Well, Takoyaki sold at Takoyaki stalls in the Malls here in the Philippines has no Octopus... It has Squid tho, but it's very rarely added (I have eaten only once with the squid variant and from a certain stall here, and that's it, afterwards it returned to just chopped vegetables) quite sad actually.
