Not remotely surprised that Izumo's an oni; she's known to be a really stubborn battleship in the grind, gets seen easily because THE STRENGTH OF JAPAN FLOWS IN HER HULL, has armor that can sometimes shrug off Yamato's guns and she hit as hard as Amagi's broadside.

Taking tremendous amounts of HE dmg and being visible from over half a battlefield away really limits anything this ship can achieve. Even the Kriegsmarine monster-ships like Friedrich der Große and Großer Kurfürst that are much larger than Izumo have way better concealment values somehow..
