However, I think that artists can take slight freedoms in painting franchise characters (but not too much). I very much dislike bad stuff like rape of good, positive and/or strong female characters. This sounds best when read in David Attenborough's voice, in the style of a wildlife documentary. But there's no way to describe humans in this sort of language without sounding like an utter twat.
