Yep. That's probably why the ghost part is so large and has color, whereas the human part is small and looks color-washed.
Also, "-maru" is a common name suffix for boys in old Japan. My guess is, this is a boy, but Yuyuko thinks he looks cute in dresses, so she's making him crossdress. (I doubt Youmu approves.)

I see a situation similar to that of Working!! in his future. A "girl" who only later in life figures out that he's really a boy, and develops a huge complex about crossdressing.
Either that, or situation from Happiness. He becomes well-known for dressing like a girl and rather enjoys it! either way, comedy will ensure!
