Funny, just having a cursory look at Azur Lane, the general impression is that AL tries to take the popular character quirks from KC, and then dial them up to "complete lunacy". I.E. Nagamon likes little girls? Let's make Ark Royal an overt pedophile! KC has some "imouto"-like girls? Let's make Unicorn straight-up call her captain Onii-chan! Some of the girls in KC are clingy to the Admiral? Let's make basically half the Sakura Empire and Metal Blood bloodthirsty yandere psychopaths! In fact, let's make Jun'you a delusional stalker who swears you're her childhood friend and you just have amnesia, and anyone who says otherwise is a FILTHY LIAR WHO MUST DIE!!

Similar to Ark Royal and Bismarck case, Victorious took part in the hunt for Tirpitz and manage to heavyily damage her, though failed to sink her. In AL the event Winter's Crown reference to that operation with some interaction between both of them.

I don't think Jun'you is a stalker. She's just very delusional. Canonically, the only yanderes I know are Roon and Akagi who are destructive and possessive respectively.

There's also Portland who is a straight up siscon.

Well, again, I'm not really into AL, but it seems like all of Akagi, Kaga, Takao, Atago, and the whole Kongou class are yandere just seeing what's on Danbooru.

NOPE, that one series is rather off the rails in terms of characterization. And by off the rails, I mean it's jumped the rails and is careening into a canyon, while the DM just opened a bottle of whisky and is chugging it. Been planning how I will approach the NA release, and looking at those girls the only real Yanderes are Roon, who slowly wakes up to it... and Akagi, who is the possessive type (And who Shoukaku will joke(?) about seeing a future of Akagi stabbing the admiral if you piss her off).

The Kongous all have different personalities- Haruna, for example, is a bit of a shounen brawler. Kirishma's is hard to place, but she is a tad awkward when dealing with the opposite sex. Kongou herself is the confident and self-assured type by my reading, while Hiei... an elegant, refined socialite? The class as a whole is hard for me to place since I can't easily pigeonhole them into tropes.

Atago is the "Ara Ara" type, while Takao... is kind of like canon Youmu with a dash of military mixed in.

Well, it's not just that one artist, there's others. In fact, that's basically the only depiction of the Kongous I've seen, so it's all I have to go by. It's not like Nagato was into little girls -nor Yuyuko a devourer of worlds- in their respective canons, either, but that's the consensus fanon. And yeah, Shoukaku-Akagi/Kaga blood feud is also basically yandere in fanon, as well, just not aimed at the captain.

Funnily enough, Shoukaku has a chip on her shoulder with all the other Fleet Carrier Divisions from Sakura. All of them.
