Given that British aristocrats have (well, 'had', maybe) a tendency to drop in French words and phrases, I thought it would be rather àpropos to translate the English/Japanese in the original commentary into English/French.

Of course, doing it the other way around (a francophone dropping in English words) has the opposite effect though (sounds hip and trendy instead of being snooty), but maybe Ms. Triumphant was just trying to clarify the meaning...
