I didn't realize it until I saw some niconico streams, but those are actually official banners that you can see if you play on the dmm page (it's located in the Information tab below the game pane).
It's supposed to change on mouseover, but someone combined the two pics into a gif and upload it to wikia.
check the information tab at the bottom of the game window. If you're using KC3, you may have to run the game without customization, in order to access the said tab.
As someone who doesn't actually play the game, and thus has no direct access to the banner, is there a link to a bigger version available? The one linked from the strip's title is all of 200 x 26 pixels, enough for me to tell, e.g., that Ark is shifting closer to Bismarck, but not whether they're holding hands. (I figure there must be a bigger version somewhere, as Ido-san certainly seems to have screen-capped something much higher-res than this.)
