I think it's both. The shock must've been too much. Both from Bowsette's appearance and Mario picking his enemy as his better half.

Definitely going here later. The series was just a oneshot but expanded with an ACTUAL story ala Kashima and Robba.

Now with these extension, I sure wanna see a full doujin of it.

The one who did that panel is apparently invested heavily in story-driven doujins. Would you believe pencils currently working with IDW and has work lined up until December? And into furry (MLP) but not afraid to try out other things.
