Huh. Checked up that guy's Twitter out of curiosity, and found out that Vaeril's notes in post #3311935 are copied wholescale from his work.
I originally didn't modify Vaeril's notes much when editing them, out of respect (translations being a collaborative project and all on Danbooru), but this is wholescale plagiarism.
I don't think Vaeril is the same person as DoumanAsh either, as going through Vaeril's other notes indicate they are copied from other sources. The notes also have an inconsistent writing style. Vaeril's comments also lead me to believe that he doesn't understand Japanese.
(This pisses me off because my work is now tainted with plagiarism. Translators don't 'own' series on Danbooru per se, but when another contributor's 'work' on a collaborative project I'm working on turns out to be pure 100% plagiarism, I will purge it entirely if it's within my ability to fill in the gaps.)
Remember, kids. Plagiarism is seriously bad. Avoid it like the plague.
Why? It's because you're claiming someone else's work as your own. That's stealing, even if it's just copying stuff.
People's lives have been ruined in Academia due to plagiarism. As in, a person's entire future and integrity is ruined simply by being lazy and presenting other people's works and ideas as your own.
tl;dr - Don't do it. For the love of all that is right in the world, just don't.
