Seen this happen before and I thoroughly welcome it. Artist pushing themselves to do something impressive. Learns new skills and tricks along the way and puts them to use to improve ever further, ever onward.

Artist recently posted noting how much this work changed since its early days and it was even more than I thought. I actually remember seeing some of the rough drafts of it at the time and didn't even realize they were the same picture.

The artist posted the final version of the picture along with an early WIP that looked nothing like it, along with the mock dialogue below in relation to the current AI-art controversy. Also linked to a previous tweet with a variety of steps along the way. I kind of want to see what the early versions would have looked like if that direction had been taken to completion. The world before the storms, so to speak.
