Anyone has any idea on how to localize 'kansen'? Azur Lane switched to that term (from kanmusu/shipgirl) after the (brief) trademark dispute with DMM. In both Chinese and Japanese, the word means "ship/vessel (that is part of a fleet)", usually referring to a naval warship or a large ocean-going ship that is part of the merchant marine. Capitalized 'Warship' (as a proper noun) is the best I can come up with for now.

Because both "Laffey" and "Lafite" are called "拉(La)菲(Fei)" in Chinese.

I think we should just leave it as KAN-SEN, since it's actually an acronym.

KANSEN is indeed an acronym no different from the GUNDAM OS that Gundam SEED used considering how many gundam references AL has...

Oh, so they backform the acronym later on to justify it in-universe, like the Gundam series. Unfortunately, after looking around... the name is just.. er.. ehm... terrible.

Misspellings aside, 'regulative' being excluded from the acronym doesn't make much sense (other than the out-of-universe "we need to fit KANSEN" reason), and En-lore is some made up term supposedly meaning "Enter the Lore", which is entirely nonsensical. Having 'Kinetic' preceding 'Artificial' is also goes a bit against natural English adjective order.

This word salad dwarfs most Japanese examples, and makes Gundam backronyms (and all those other weird names in Japanese fantasy/SF series) look like Tolkienian masterpieces.

Oh well, it's going to be Kinetically-Augmented Naval Ship Expansion Node in my headcanon. Fits with the lore and functions of the humanoid ship avatar too.

Depends on the person and the footwear in question though. Shoes like combats tend to prevent ventilation if its tied well enough and assuming Concord's leggings have very thick deniers, then taking them off will likely be akin to a woman removing her bra or somefin

I'm a staunch kneesock lover and honestly the shoes also play a big part as well. However, I do have a weakness for boots in particular so there's that.

Senkan「戦艦」is "battleship" (like, the very thing that KC Kiyoshimo WANTS to become). The kan「艦」part means "warship" (deriving from kanji meaning "fenced ship", as in a ship with boards installed on all four sides to defend against arrow attacks). Kansen「艦船」 literally means "warships and ships", and is originally used to refer to ships assigned to a navy (not boats though, those are equipment), whether a proper military warship or an auxiliary vessel (transports, tenders, etc). Later on (and now), the word can also refer to ocean-going ships in general (not boats or shallow water craft though), not just warships.

Of course, in colloquial speech (in both Japanese and Chinese), 戦艦/战舰 can refer to any warship in general, like how the word "battleship" is abused in English by laymen to refer to any warship regardless of whether it's a battleship or not.
