Yet Russian Federation guns like AN-94, AK-12 and SV-98 also exists in the game with SV-98 wearing the Russian Federation Flag on her uniform. My head-canon it was a goof up by the creators and the fall of the USSR still happens with the whole never fallen thing getting a retcon.

It's also possible it just happened later, possibly triggered by the Beilan Island incident. Though I think a few bits of the original backstory that were copy pasted from the the earlier work and maybe even some of the earlier material for GFL itself do need to be considered at least partly retconned.

As I recall the game also directly mentions the FSB which is pretty much direct confirmation since that agency was formed to replace the KGB after the fall of the Soviet Union.

Almost "padoru padoru" I am disappoint.

Soviet Union died but Putin-equivalent brought it back or something
