    No way! She couldn't survive in Gensokyo if she were.. Those in Gensokyo are elites, at least they are not cute mascots in zoo nor the livestock as food.

    Well, other than the humans in the Zoo Nature Preserve Village, who are (relatively well-treated) livestock milked for existential sustenance (fear & faith) for the youkai, gods and other miscellanea.

    (Additional food for youkai who need to eat human flesh are provided by spiriting away 'undesirables' from the outside world.)

    According to my professor (I have no other source on this, so grain of salt), Japanese culture is, on the whole, very proud of how their four seasons are very distinct and evenly divided. Especially by comparison to other countries, where the seasons might blend together at the boundaries or they might not even have one or two seasons in any meaningful way (for example, where I live, Spring is basically "Winter but the snow is melting" at one end and "Summer but it's muddy and wet" at the other, and there's never really any point where it's clearly delineated from the surrounding seasons).

    She was admiring the weather, basically.

    I know you meant western as in outside of japan but now I imagine there is a gensokyo that is the classic american west with cowboys running around but there are also classic monsters from horror movies and the grimm fairy tale creatures running around too like the mummy and the big bad wolf.
