What does her being homesick have to do with her clothes ripping apart?
She keeps forgetting that the Japanese use a different clothes sizing system. And in America she usually gets large size clothes, but a “Japanese large” is more like an “American medium”. Therefore, the clothes keep exploding off of her curvier American form.
