Translation bump

(This isn't meant to criticize anyone, I am merely curious)
Is there a particular reason this isn't being translated over other works (That, say, came out today for example)? Is it the scan or do people just not have time and interest?

Forgetfulness, honestly. The first thing I saw of this comic was the next page, which is translated, so I just filed it in my head as "translated or in the process of" and figured I'd come back to read it later if I felt like it. Then when there was a translation bump, I noticed my mistake but was distracted by something else. And so on and son.

This one, I'll probably translate soonish if someone else doesn't do it first. Some I do ignore on purpose, though.

Is there a particular reason to ignore posts (that you were, otherwise, going to translate) or are they just not up to your taste?

Usually because they're not to my taste, or because they're part of a super long pool (which, as it happens, often aren't to my taste anyway). Obviously I sometimes translate stuff I don't especially care for, so you shouldn't overthink it as a personal endorsement or anything, but I usually don't go out of my way to do so, especially if I'm already busy.

I'm also reluctant to do partially translated comics, either because I think the translator might come back or because the preexisting translation makes me feel like I'd have to go through and proofread/edit it, which on the other hand feels rude. Call me a control freak, but I prefer that a translation be consistent, and that often means either editing other people's work or trying to imitate it, neither of which I like doing. So in that sense, I guess I'd be happy if people finished what they started or at least didn't snipe random bubbles in the middle (not in this case! I more than understand schedules getting in the way), but I'm not an authority or anything and there are in fact other translators in existence, so all it really means is that I personally won't hop in to finish them.

So did y'all ever sort out who was going to translate this/whether anyone will translate it?

I do hope someone finishes translating this pool.
