My guess: what better way for Akagi-chan to stick it to Akagi than to be the wingshipgirl to Enterprise towards the commander?

Also, Bataan continues to be just this one big pile of wholesome. Additionally, Akagi-chan is wearing the same sleepwear as Bataan when she first showed up on this comic.

I must confess I read Bataan's song to the tune of Eminem's Mockingbird. It's oddly fitting.

Akagi got hung up over Amagi (apparently) giving the little tyke more attention, so I'd say hogging SKK to herself would be a lot more effective.

Lovely lass. For a second I forgot that, despite all her innocence and brightness, this girl is STILL Akagi.

Am I the only who realized Bataan's toolbox had a WW2 mechanic's name on it?
He was Bruno Gaido, form the USS Enterpise (CV-6). He was promoted after he jumped into a parked SBD Dauntless tail gun and shoot down a Japanese bomber, which was on it's way to crash into the Enterprise. Later during the Battle of Midway, he was shot down and was killed by the Japanese because he refused to tell important informations.
In April 1943, he was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his actions aboard the Enterprise.
