Here is my latest finished painting, this is such a lovely piece and I'm so glad I had this commissioned! Heart

It's been a while since my last commission with TychyTamara TychyTamara, but when I had the idea for this, I knew she was the perfect person to paint it for me.

As mentioned in the works-in-progress views* I've uploaded before, the subjects of this painting are Heidi (from Heidi), Anne Shirley (from Anne of Green Gables), Mary Lennox (from The Secret Garden), and Sara Crewe (from A Little Princess), enjoying a picnic together on a sunny summer afternoon up in the Swiss Alps near Heidi's home with her grandfather, which her friends have come to visit after being told so many stories about the place and hearing Heidi going on and on about the beautiful views. They are beautiful though. Nod

Poor Mary is rubbing her feet, hot and tired as they are from the long walk up the mountainside in a pair of relatively light sandals, compared to her friends who wore sturdier walking boots. Heidi of course skipped gaily up the mountain ahead of the other three in her bare feet. ^^

This has been about 6 weeks in the making, and tbh I'm amazed Tamara painted it so quickly, but from her emails I could tell she enjoyed painting this scene as much as I enjoy seeing it brought to life by her. ^^

Heidi, Anne of Green Gables, The Secret Garden, and A Little Princess are all long since out of copyright, but remain some of the jewels of their respective creators: Johanna Spyri, Lucy Maud Montgomery, and Frances Hodgson Burnett. Heart

Many many thanks to TychyTamara TychyTamara for her hours and hours of painting this gorgeous scene, and whom I fully intend to commission again in the coming months! ;) (Wink)
