Apparently, MP40 has a "Ribbon Mothers Cross in Gold", which, while extremely blurry, heavily implies she has at least 4 children already...
The Cross of Honour of the German Mother in Gold indicates that she has had at least eight children or more, according to the legal documentation of the time. Four to five is the minimum for a mother to get a cross, that one being in bronze.
As far as I can tell from Google search results, the ribbon looks the same regardless of whether it's the bronze, silver or gold version. That means that it doesn't have to be the gold version that she has.
