Are you scrolling through your phone during the boring family dinner tonight? Then I hope you like some Jojo art! Today I bring you Josuke Higashikata, the guy you’d totally want to be your bro, your best friend. 4/5 done, only one portrait left to finish this set. (friendly reminder that for the moment I’m not gonna paint Jolyne and the rest because I’m not fully caught up yet, I’d like to do them proper justice)

I’ve always liked how Josuke’s design contrasts his delinquent appearance with his pure, caring personality. He’s a protector first and foremost, he punches, sure, but he mostly heals. Crazy Diamond’s ability to restore things is the complete polar opposite of Killer Queen’s absolute destruction, and I really love that. Josuke is many people’s favorite Jojo for a reason, I don’t think it’s physically possible to hate him, he’s SUCH A GOOD BOI.

For this portrait I pulled some obvious inspiration from some covers and pages of the manga, a symbolism that carried over to the anime OPs. The golden heart was a lot of fun to paint, as was his face, but the background was super difficult for me. I hope you like the final result!
