Yeah, the reason Gainax was cool about Comikets/ Doujins was the company was founded by fanboys and artist alike. Sadly, their buisness as a whole went into fhe ways of Otaku no Video...where the dream ended with CEOS and takeovers.
This news tears me into pieces! Ive been a longtime fan of Mogudans Rei since my 1st con back in the 2000s! After all these years...its sad he cant illustrate Rei in Doujins anymore ( his was one of the very best! I still own em'!)...still, i'll always love his work and glad hes still illustrating!
