It costs about ¥1600 for me to travel to Akihabara, so I always buy parts for about ¥1600, shipping included. :-)
If the parts aren't all available at one store, and the places that offer them by mail order are scattered about, I go and buy them. That's when I stock up on a lot, since I'm going to the trouble anyway. :-)
