To be fair, he was actually removing the NTR. If you see the page where Mr. Ex comes in, it already says NTR under GAL on the little screen, implying that the other guy was trying to NTR her from Otaku Boy.

Now that it's translated it's even better.

My theory (in-universe) is that the NTR on the screen is an 'OS overlay' the 'enemy' side is using to suborn the captured AI and convert it over to their side. Which full name just so happens to have those particular initials (similar to GAL having another convenient initialism).

Probably couldn't reformat the AI completely without breaking the whole thing.

...and now I'm going to call it NTR(-ing) whenever a mech gets captured (or taken/sold away, same side) in a mecha series.
