You need to actually play the game. She's not a Samurai and she doesn't die.
Also, this image has always made little sense. In the game, she has completely bare skin, which you see quite clearly in the bath scenes. It would have been more accurate for the artist to draw this style of body tattoo a character of another game as its actually a story point for Momohime to be 'pure' (aka without any physical blemishes including tattoos). But considering this was drawn before the game came out, I guess that's why the artist did it.
