You know... Not knowing the appeal of something and instead calling it "trash"
If you consider psychotic, murderously possessive women appealing, you have issues. Why go for the likes of Akagi, Roon, Jun'you or Taihou, when you can go instead for Oklahoma or South Dakota - hell, the entire Eagle Union battleship line-up is reasonably level-headed.
Plus, if we assume that the Azur Lane Commander is an actual commissioned officer, they have a duty and a responsibility to not let that sort of fairyassed pantshittery slide. And even if the Commander is actually just some schmuck snatched up from the streets because of their Wisdom Cube affinity, it's still poor fucking form to let your subordinates plot each other's murder.

I don't see the appeal of yanderes, either, but still... It's just a fictional fetish, no need to take it so seriously.

Oh nevermind. I see you take these non serious things seriously. Sorry you don't see the appeal

Wow....your whole argument revolves around "Akagi is bad because I think so, and everyone else has to agree with me". Just give it a break, man. Akagi is a fictional character created by pencils, paintstrokes, and computer animation...and you seem very distrubed by her.
So what if she is popular by many Azur Lane fans? She is drawn to be a sexy foxy yandre because in Azur Lane....sex sells. The game and anime is literally designed to appeal to sexual emotions and feelings for players and viewers. But why get so hung up on Akagi's popularity when she is just 1 out of HUNDREDS of other shipgirls?
You must understand that besides how she is drawn and how her character behaves, that she represents one if the most famous of Imperial Japanese aircraft carriers, and one who was sunk in the very famous and well-known Battle of Midway, so there is reason for her to be popular purely on a historical basis...and that includes both Westerners AND Easterners (esp. Americans and Japanese).
