Dunno, but I don't think she has certainly died... Yes quite obviously she is now deaf because that destroyed the ear complex, but after that it went straight into the throat and then out of the other ear, because it IS possible to pass something one ear the other in theory, but probably she will suffer of great mind deseases after that though, I repeat dunno maybe she died for the pain @_@

Actually. Assuming a jelly-like soft tentacle, it would be possible for it to pass through the eustachian tubes into the throat and between the ears. Rupturing the ear drums, yes, but not necessarily causing death.
On the same note, going up into the nasal cavity and following the nasolacrimal ducts, a tentacle could enter an ear and come out of an eye. Traumatizing.
