    I remember the French Gundam getting headlocked and then lasered in the eyes... though I forgot when that happened or who did it.

    Edit: Oh wait, it's in the OP. Those are the beam ropes surrounding Earth. Anyway, think the original is also a reference to Tiger Mask.

    Edit2: Oh and SRW T made fun of this, with George griping about his face (well his Gundam's face) being ground into the beam ropes EVERY WEEK (in the show's OP, so a meta reference).
