    Why is the father and daughter tag here? This guys their childhood friend isn't he. In fact now that I look at is the mother and daughter tag may be wrong too. Based the situation they came to get him for school but he overslept, which led to this situation here.

    Mom be like: 'Nothing changes, eh.'
    But it's quite interesting to see the mom already toting a smartphone even back then. From the looks of it, including the telltale silver rim and black inner frame combo, plus the on/off button it's an Apple IPhone 4, which makes the image recalled was from 2010. Assuming those kids are at 6/7 y.o at that time, they'd be 17/18 at the present, so they won't be juniors.

    Makes it even funnier, because if the digits in the lower panel's clock represents the current minute then she'd have waited about half an hour before going up to his room.

    Also, the thought bubble seems to show that this has happened before.

    2010 would be the bottom end, but it's perfectly possible that mom doesn't get a new phone yearly.
