Oh yes, it is. Spring is making a similar face too (G. Boy's is completely different though). Similar pet names too (Rosamia → Rosammy, Izumi → Izummy). More apparent in Japanese too because of the shared ミィ ending (the tiny ィ approximates the English -ie diminutive).
(Incidentally Chuchumy also has the same ミィ ending.)
