LOL... Actually this IS really THAT badass.
Her piercings look painful. Enduring pain is a proof of strength and physical resistance, which is badass to me.
The orb in her hand is a sign of mystical power.
Her expression is confident, which is badass in my book.
Her pose with both the machete and the orb are very "you gonna get raped" like...
And the blood from the piercings as well as her face paint just make the image even more badass.
If blood, nudity, women, dark skin, ancient cultures and/or minorities disgust you, then just ignore the image. Let us who like those things enjoy them, o.k.?

"Wide lax smile"? Actually it looks more like a semi-malicious confident smile.

I wonder what you would do if suddenly this machete wielding, bleeding savage looking chic appeared in front of you? After watching the C3PO post in the pool, I'm even more convinced now that this piece is badass.

LOL are you freaking blind or something? one of them piercings goes from side to side of one of her arms. Her body modification are awe-inspiring. Her pose and body expressions are screaming bring it on.
Just keep removing this tag from the pool. I'll keep adding it forever.
LOL I just noticed there is also a Neon Genesis Evangelion piece with EVAS playing electric guitars in the "Badass" pool. This is waaay more Badass than that LOL...
And this is why the pools get crowded with images that don't fit their criteria. People stretching their definitions to the point of ridiculousness. If you like this sort of thing, no big deal, but that's what your Favorites are for. But there's no badassery here, no "You gonna get raped", no malicious smile. Just look at that face. By no stretch of the imagination is that even a quarter malicious, let alone semi-malicious. Her pose says NOTHING. Just about every sword-holding image out there uses that way of holding their weapon by their side.
For the record, the C3PO image at least has a dynamic pose and an implied ability of being able to kick ass from the text. This has none of that. It's just a big-eyed warrior girl standing there. Doing nothing. Against a blank background. And before you say it, being depicted as a warrior doesn't automatically qualify something for the Badass pool if it has nothing else going for it like this piece does.

Also, there's something wrong with you if you think TWO GIANT WAR MECHAS PLAYING GUITARS is not badass but this thing is.
At any rate, what say you we settle this argument? I've sent a message asking the pool creator to give his opinion on whether or not this belongs in the pool. If he shows up, his post will be the final word on whether or not it goes in his pool, how about that?

I have to agree, there's nothing that really stands out about this image. No dynamic character or background. I created this pool just for those awe-inspiring images you described, the kind you'd want to print and hang on your wall. I think we do need a better pool system around here, maybe a system that images are voted in to, rather than being on the judgment of one person. And besides that, adding one image to multiple pools seems kind of clunky. But that's another matter. This isn't badass at all.
tl;dr whatever you said aside, having those piercings that big only mean that they're adapted from smaller piercings applied from birth/childhood gradually increasing it's size, no human body can withstand a piercing that big from the get go... also she seems to have blood from places not pierced so she killed recently, and the strain made her bleed the holes
