This is actually a scene from the Invasion of Grenada, not the Vietnam War, the US didn't start fielding M81 Woodland until after the Vietnam War and only experimented with ERDL (the precursor to M81) at the tail end of the war.

Didn't M16a1s use 20-round magazine during the Vietnam war? Is this a mistake?

In widespread use yes. There were early 30 rounders but those were rare and mostly in Mac Vsog units
