Did we read the same thing? This is a fine ending. I feel like there might be more of this in the works, but if it ended right now, it would be satisfactory. Reimu isn't being killed. She's not being forced to do anything against her will. She is in death as she was in life, with the Pride of a Human as her guide.

It tugs at your heartstrings; brings tears to your eyes. But it is very far from bad. :)

I suppose, in this way, a happy end and a good end aren't always the same thing. This is really depressing, but... really beautiful, too.

Usually when Meiling is crying there's Sakuya's knife stuck in her head, and that often makes me smile. :]

Don't cry, folks. Remember, becoming a Celestial is something that just happens, without input from the subject. In fact, if they try to become Celestials, that's a guarantee that they can't.

Reimu got the offer and turned it down. That means she has a chance.

As a Komachi fan, I really enjoyed this. She gets some more characterization.

Just a shame that it took another 60 years in-story for it to happen >.<

It's been a long time since I've genuinely cried before, I can't believe and artists work can have such an affect on a persons emotions. When such a thing happens, you know that artist is a good one. One of the best comics on Danbooru right here folks, don't pass it up for anything.

It's more of a neutral end than a bad end ig. Becoming a celestial would definitely be a good end compared to dying due to choosing to stay a weak human.
