my point here is that the mouth is too high and without those creepy teeth and tongue Sanae would look better.

Manga/anime are always expressing emotions more than any other form of animation/comic. It's that sort of expression that conveys the feeling the artist wants people to feel. Your edits make the feeling portrayed have less impact.

I don't know much about either of the three characters here and I found it heartbreaking. Also, there's nothing wrong with Sanae's eyes or mouth. It's just a different art style.
