I really hope the mad lads that revert these characters back to their proper skin colour and send them back to the artist still exist, because those interactions tend to be the only thing of value to be gleaned from blackwash art.

Check the source. It's THAT place, so the artist probably needed to "apologize" for something bad, and thus decide to ruin perfectly good characters.

What inspires you to create this piece of art depicting blackwashed characters? Why can't it be OC characters drawn in Touhou style?
Or is there any other reasons than 'I'd like to see them being of other race'?

@Reibyou Don't bother engaging with the trolls on this site. Their comments get downvoted out of sight for a reason. There are more productive uses of your time and energy.

Because that image was drawn in 'retaliation' of tumblrites saying Nessa wasn't black enough, AND modified the post by essentially blackwashing/racewashing Nessa.
It's funny that blackwashing was considered normal nowadays, but whitewashing will incure wrath. Double standards at best, eh?

Well I can say it work in both ways, I saw a lot of people complaining when dark-skinned characters drawn with lighter skin colour
