Grevious could make this work because he was 8 ft. tall, had reach and leverage over most of his opponents, and struck terror based on his appearance alone. This little girl is an encumbered joke, which admittedly is a legitimate tactic if you're trying to make your opponent underestimate you. But I don't think that's what they were going for.

Bruh. It's Star Wars, so most normal folks don't take it seriously, not even most of the fans. Second, it's anime, so normal conventions of normal are even further out the window. Additionally, this segment of Visions and this character are by Studio Trigger...... over-the-top madness is literally their calling card. You came to the wrong place to try and apply logic.
I don't know if that makes it better or worse. Never liked the idea of the "light-whip" to begin with. The sword/whip combo is an old fantasy trope.

Internal logic within a setting is completely necessary for a story and setting. Otherwise people have a hard time being invested. It has to make sense on some level. And Star Wars is a setting where the internal logic has been stretched from time to time for one adaptation or another, but for most of it's history it's been very rigid. Solid and sound. A firm basis for creating scenarios.

The Twins is one of the most overtly AU shorts in the collection, the whole thing is pretty much just "what if we condensed Star Wars down into a one-off style over substance 80s OVA," I'd say its pretty fair for them to toss logic to the wind for the sake of a pure visual spectacle.

I totally agree. And to be fair, the "no longer Canon" universe of star-wars used to have some pretty crazy stuff too. Like Darth Nihilus, who could literally eat planets, and drive people to madness and pain with his voice!

That is true, pre-Disney EU Star Wars was full of absolutely crazy stuff. Invaded by a force-resistant species from another galaxy, Luke Skywalker falling in love with a starship, and everything about The Force Unleashed.
Not to mention that it goes far enough into the future that everything is completely different in Legacy

Yeah, and fans rightly panned the stupid stuff. The EU had to perform damage control numerous times because it went to places it shouldn't have. Usually they'd ignore the bad ideas, but sometimes they'd explain it away, make derisive in-universe comments or jokes, etc. It's a natural consequence of having many projects and artists involved with the setting.
