They founded "Ponytail Day" on July 7th in 1995. The reason for the date is that Orihime (Vega) who appears in the Tanabata tale had a ponytail. It appears that this organization awards a "Japan Ponytail Award" annually to celebrities who look good in ponytails, but it's also a bit of a mysterious organization that doesn't have an official webpage and whose members are unclear.
