This is why I love King Halo, the IRL horse suffered defeat after defeat until he finally won a G1 race, and the game devs beautifully incorporated that into the Umamusume King Halo's training story. It's super emotional and it really makes you happy when she finally gets the (required) G1 win at the end.

Even her story campaign is that. Her own mother was literally kusa and Halo does everything to get her attention, despite of that Halo's mother entrusted her own daughter to you seeing how much progress she done so far.
