They're not falling toward the center of the Earth, their gravity is just so strong that the Earth is being pulled closer to them.
Naw they're just creating a volcano by speeding up the heating of a chunk of the mantle, those are gonna be some toasty boats soon. That or they're going to get exit velocity and wind up in the Dragon Empery.
