I'd heard that someone bought out the Guilty Gear IP awhile back, which is why ArcSys created BB in the first place.

According to the same interview, ArcSys has no problems with Sega and they would maintain GG. Also, an earlier interview with Daisuke tells that both 2D and 3D GG will continue.
