I don't see why this is "surreal". In the Warsaw Ghetto, the jewish rebels would always have attractive women engage in sabotage, being less likely to get shot. This seems to be a similar strategy.

yeah, theyre not gonna fall for that. Extremeists do the same thing except instead of flowers and pretty women its kids with candy bars. They are gonna ask whats behind her back, tell her to stop and get on the ground. Is she refuses, they will shoot her. This is all too common in Afghanistan.

Which is perhaps why it's a dead man's switch. They kill her, she blows up anyway.

Those guys must be soldiers from an army that nuked a city, then invaded it. They are wearing military grade Hazmat equipment.

Possible, but not consistent with the building damage. Theres way too many scenarios to guess who nuked who. It could be that the soldiers are the returning (non-aggressor) army after nuking their own city to kill the occupying army and the suicide bomber is an angry civilian who wants revenge on the people who nuked her family.

It could always have been a salted bomb, which are lower on the destructive scale but put out lethal levels of radiation for longer periods of time, as I recall.

It was used as a cover for polish book "Revelation by Lord John (Apokalipsa według Pana Jana)" by Robert J. Szmidt. The story took place in polish city Wrocław 2 years after a global nuklear war (in which almost whole world was destroyed), when a group of "choosen ones" (military and some goverment officials) left their secret bunker in which they hid just before nukes fell down. People who survived war (on the ground) generally hated choosen ones for abandoning them and still having good skin and hair. That would make this girl one of the survivors and soldiers choosen ones. I dont remember if there was scene like that in book though.

I guess I'll have to take a look at my local library. I am a great fan of post-apocalypse, but haven't seen many located in Poland (except for "Kompleks 7215", but I heard it's not that good)
