I also have never imagined Articuno as looking so "phoenix-y" The way I saw it, Articuno was sort of bird of paradise-y (short neck long fluttery tail) Zapados was sort of the sparrow/starling mold (short neck short tail) and Motres was crane like (long neck long bill)
