Except you know, the characters that are actually japanese. Sanae for instance. If an anime doesnt take place in japan, then its your logic stands.

just an inherent artifact of the style in general. its a neutral look that you're going to by default imagine as whatever's most convenient. once you can get over that its easy enough

I've had Touhou characters creeping into my dreams for a while, and usually as Japanese unless something specific would dictate otherwise (or oddly enough, different occasions with Sakuya showing up as both 'White' AND Japanese)

For a moment there, I thought she was stepping on the panda. Would've been a nice touch.
