For the longest time I have wanted to see Sayu as a genuine tanuki girl and not just wearing tanuki themed clothes. Genshin already has a genuine cat girl with Diona so why not let Sayu be a genuine tanuki girl? Of course her lewd bike shorts are also a must have.

Sayu's outfit is based on the mujina, not the tanuki. She even points this out MANY times. Yes I created this acc just to comment this
I should probably mention that I don't play Genshin or any other of these type of games as such a I know nothing about Sayu or any other girl's backstory or personality. I just admire the cute/lewd art that gets made for them. I also know next to nothing about Japanese and Chinese folklore and mythology. In most of such fanart or doujin material I have seen the tanuki has been pretty common sometimes alongside the kitsune.
