I can't help but feel bad for these girls, since this is clearly set before post #428049.

I have a feeling that we're either missing a picture or two, or else there is a reference in this picture we're not getting, since those two images are clearly related and seems to tell a story, but it's like we're missing a part of it.

Or possibly, there is no middle picture, and the artist is leaving it up to the viewers to fill in the blank for themselves.

Given that the artist named the other picture "Spring, 1946", I think we can fill in what happened.

What I'm wondering is, what "March 27th DL3 rank" and "April 2nd WL3" stand for...that's what it says in the artist's comment for the other pic.
Anyway, regardless, this is a very beautiful pic <3 absolutely love it!
