    There's nothing vital in your lower half and with her senses dulled she can't go into shock so the only thing that can kill her is blood loss and blood loss can take some time...a lot of time in this case apparently.

    Rather it’s a reference to the “tentacle pit” trend, where the aforementioned pit numbs the lower half of the victim so it doesn’t feel the processes the tentacles undergo. Usually it’s of a sexual nature, but Mado turned it on it’s head.
