The only similarities I can see is: A.Have similar characteristics in appearance (Pink hair, green eyes, red uniform, etc)
B. Both characters have questionable personalities, the obsessive kind.
C. Both come from series with terrible fanbases.
Though in Amy's defense, at the very least the character she's chasing show's signs of liking her back. In sakura's case, the boy in question shows no signs and for all intensive purposes is asexual, possibly gay. Also Amy's isn't nearly as useless as seen in games like Sonic heroes (being the leader of her own team) and the holding her own in fights (see the archie comics).
Assuming this is based off the cartoon Amy (Ive never looked at the comic so I don't know if it's different there)there's actually an error here, in point of fact, Amy doesn't HAVE toes.

Yes, except that there have been one or two episodes of the TV show where Amy was at the beach, wearing sandals, so you could SEE she had no toes. Cream doesn't have any either (same situation)

That is true but there is at least one episode where they are on the beach and Amy is wearing sandals, in that one you can see she lacks toes. For the record, Cream (who is also sandaled, also has no toes.
