She was - now she isn't. The MCU show made her a mutant, probably to eventually tie her into the inevitable MCU X-Men, and the comics are following suit.

So now sadly the MCU also dictates the potential of the comic universe.
Might be bad in the long run, sounds like it culls the potential of the characters, forcing them to be exactly the same in both the comics and the movies.

Hopefully the MCU will stop being a thing in the futur.

MCU did most comic stuff better. Comic sales are consistently in downward spiral in the US for decades, because they mostly aren't good. MCU avoided so much of the pitfalls of the industry for a long time.
It's becoming unsustainable now, but it's still better than what the comics have been for decades

Even before the mcu was a thing. The marvel movies have always been a powerful force that dictated the comics. When Spider-Man 3 came out, Spider-Man in the comics started wearing a black venom like costume.

When they reveal she was a mutant. I was like okay, when does she join the x men!

What would have been cool is if they went … okay, I’m a mutant, but I’ve never been interested in the x men at all. I’m not joining you guys!
