Mercader or 'merchant' is designed for long range mining and cargo hauling purposes. It can carry significant amounts of cargo and has a decent survivability in case of pirate raids.

The design is inspired by galleons of the historical Spanish treasure fleet and Minmataar ships from EvE online.

I have played EvE online for a few days a few years ago so the game was not really in my recent memory. Therefore I had to make some studies from the Spanish historical fleet as well as the EvE fleet. I enjoyed the whole process alot, was very fun. I must admit that the gamer side of me has a little EvE-itch growing inside... :) (Smile)
